Swim/Snorkle with the Seals

2/21/20

Hi. Today was very cool beacuse we we got to swim with the seals. We got to go so close. One soomed under me it was the asomest.

Given grace warnings that the previous groups of the day hadn’t seen any seals due to colder weather and murky water due to swells. We said we’d go for it anyway along with 2 other couples. They team outfitted us in 5+ mm wetsuits. I added an extra suit overtop mine and was powered up to 10 mm on the body!ha. I can say I didn’t get cold and I could still bend my arms even with the thickness of the suit! We took a bus to Oceanside and then a small boat into a few smaller water areas protected from some of the surfs. Fur seals lying around everywhere. Saw a yellow eye penguin and a few tiny 2 kg (5pound), Little Blue penguins. Initial water shock with 61 F water temperature. Usually had 1 seal in the water all the time. Water visibility was fair and could definitely get within 6 feet of the seals at times. Very fun! Later in the day went for long walk around town and on beach

Will have to find out if any pics turned out on the Go-Pro camera later on.
