Kaikoura Whale Watch

Hi. Today we got to go and watch whales we saw spurm whales. We saw hreads of dalphins and one seal. After that we went back to the campground and went swiming the end.

more details: We went with whale watch Kaikoura company and were not disappointed. As we approached the first ocean location 2 sperm whales (male) were preparing to dive. We missed one but were able to see the second dive down with the tail fluke wave! They can stay down feeding around 59 minutes and then come to surface for 10 or 15 to breathe. We waited for them to return and saw albatross and other seabirds. The females and calves need warmer water so they usually are in equatorial waters. Had many groups of dolphins chase the boat on the way back to shore. Finished the evening with fish & chips at the Pier 1 hotel/hotel.
